TURKEY, situated at the cross-road
between two continents Asia and Europe, is the cradle of mankind and
the largest open-air museum illustrating world history while you
sample the remnants of all the important civilizations which lived
in the land, i.e., Assyrians, Hattis, Hittites, Trojans, Phrygians,
Persians, Urartians, lonians, Macedonians, Romans, Byzantine,
Seljuks and Ottomans.
Turkey is the source of so many of the world's most important
scientists, philosophers, gods, religious and political leaders and
is where the likes of Thales, Socrates, Homer, Cybele, Artemis, The
Virgin Mary, St. Paul, St. John, Midas, Croesus, Alexander the Great,
Constantine the Great, Suleiman the Magnificent and Mustafa Kemal
Atatürk lived in the real world and in mythology.
Turkey is a modern
democratic country today, founded by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in 1923
with much to offer to kindle the imagination of vacationers.
Surrounded on three sides by major bodie of water, the Black Sea to
the North, the Aegean to the west, the Mediterranean on the South,
she is currently one of Europe's favorite vacation destinations
offering all types of marine activities from snorkeling to cruises
on the most luxurious yachts. Resorts abound along the Aegean and
Mediterranean coasts where one can just enjoy excursions to various
historical sites in the area, or take advantage of coach tours which,
for example, trace the journeys of the Apostle Paul or take one to
marvelous ancient cities and temples which often pre-date Christ.
TURKEY is truly an exciting destination, which once visited inspires
many returns. |
